Recently I was honored when asked by Jennifer Grier of the Atlanta branch of the Federal Reserve Bank to participate in their Payment Spotlight Podcast Series. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta created the Retail Payments Risk Forum in 2008. This forum is designed to bring together expertise residing within the Federal Reserve, financial institutions, other industry participants, regulators, and law enforcement by featuring interviews and commentaries on emerging risk issues. I was excited by the opportunity to be a part of this podcast series. Jennifer was a joy to work with, as all of you who have experience with the Retail Payments Risk Forum know.

Our topic was Payments Fraud and the Economic Downturn. In the interview, we discuss how these turbulent economic times have led to actual increases in the number of incidents of payments fraud. If you have a few minutes, please take time to listen to the podcast at www.frbatlanta.org/podcasts/PaymentsSpotlight. The podcasts are free, and our discussion is only a little over 8 minutes long. Also, the Federal Reserve does not require registration to access their professionally produced content.

I welcome your thoughts and comments related to what your organization is experiencing in this tough economy.
