Police continue work on payroll check fraud case

Gonzales police continue to work a case involving more than $25,000 in bad checks which were passed in Gonzales, Waelder and Flatonia. Capt. Allen Taylor of the Gonzales Police Department said bogus payroll checks in the name of Buddy's Natural Chicken, a legitimate local business, were cashed at Prosperity Bank and the Shamrock convenience store on Seydler Street.
