Two Ajax men have been found guilty of participating in a criminal organization for their roles in a debit card-skimming operation that targeted at least one Durham bank. Ian Laffan, 34, and Corrie Wheartly, 37, pleaded guilty to numerous charges including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and fraud in mid-November. They also pleaded guilty to participating in a criminal organization, a relatively new section of the Criminal Code that addresses organized crime.
