Woman charged in $22,600 identify theft

December 17, 2009
Total Loss: $22,600
A 27-year-old Philadelphia woman was charged with identity theft after a bank teller notified Delaware State Police that she was trying to withdraw money from another customer's account. Courtney Henry, of Bingham Street, was charged Monday with identity theft, felony theft, two counts of attempted theft and forgery, said state police spokesman Senior Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh. About 12:30 p.m. Monday, Henry walked into the Wachovia Bank branch on Naamans Road and tried to withdraw $7,900. Whitmarsh said Henry forged a withdrawal slip with the account number of an actual customer to get the money.
