Former Valley contractor accused of $5 million scam

A 44-year-old Valley man is accused of attempting to negotiate more than $5 million in counterfeit bank checks and counterfeit company checks. On Tuesday, a federal grand jury returned a 34-count indictment against Frank Anteri, of Anthem and Peoria, and charged him with bank fraud, mail fraud and making and possession of counterfeit securities, according to an Office of the U.S. Attorney District of Arizona press release issued Wednesday.
