Two northeastern Louisiana residents were indicted by a federal grand jury in Lafayette on Wednesday on identity theft and credit card fraud. Amon Peoples, 23, and Tonyell Toliver, 36, were indicted on charges of taking part in a scheme to defraud credit and debit card account holders. Peoples and Toliver obtained credit and debit card numbers without the cardholders' consent. The two would then re-encode the stolen data onto magnetic strips of credit cards and gift cards. Peoples was also charged with trying to buy account holders' individual account numbers from Regions Bank.
