Putnam woman sentenced on federal fraud charges

A Patterson woman has been sentenced to four years and nine months in federal prison for depositing fraudulent third-party checks into back accounts and then withdrawing the funds. Renata Kuehl, 36, had been found guilty of one count of conspiring with her mother, Maria Dasilva, to commit bank fraud, and two counts of bank fraud after a seven-day trial in December 2008. In total, the two deposited some 46 of those checks totaling over $750,000.
