Total Loss:
$5 Million
Twelve more people have been charged in a check-cashing scheme that prosecutors say defrauded South Carolina's Department of Social Services of more than $5 million. Prosecutors say Paul Moore and another man recruited dozens to cash checks written from DSS accounts. The recruits each took a cut, with most of the money going back to Moore.
