Police warn public about check fraud

Waite Park police are warning the public about fraudulent cashier's checks that are being passed. The checks are from Plaza Park Bank, 131 Sixth Ave. S, Waite Park. The checks are sent by Lans Kerry in the amount of $4,750, according to a crime alert sent out by the department. Police believe that there are at least 150 such checks circulating. These checks have been found in Pennsylvania and Indiana. It appears the checks are being issued to people, not businesses.
