Bonita man arraigned in federal bank, mail fraud case

A former manager for a local home builder was arraigned Monday on charges he paid friends for bogus inspections of vacant lots in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties in return for more than $270,000 in kickbacks. Lawrence L. Ripley Jr., 52, of Bonita Springs, pleaded not guilty to four counts each of bank and mail fraud at his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Sheri Polster Chappell in Fort Myers.
