San Jose Man To Serve Four Years For Check Fraud, Grand Theft

A 42-year-old man agreed to serve four years in prison after he pleaded guilty this week to a variety of fraud and theft charges. Lawrence Maschino will be sentenced as part of a plea agreement for charges that include writing checks with insufficient funds, using a victim's personal information without authorization, and grand theft, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. Investigators learned that he had written a series of bad checks worth thousands of dollars between February and June of this year. The total loss from the bad checks was more than $17,000, according to the district attorney's office.
