State grand jury indicts local fraud suspect

A man arrested earlier this year in Mesa County is accused of being part of a national check fraud ring that defrauded businesses in at least 10 western Colorado cities, including Grand Junction, according to a state grand jury indictment. Jorge Martinez Gomez, 26, was a ordered held Wednesday on $200,000 bond at the Mesa County Jail on charges including racketeering and felony theft between $1,000 and $20,000.
