14-year Sentence In Colorado Check Fraud Operation

A man accused of running a check fraud and identity theft operation that spanned 10 Colorado counties has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said Monday that 46-year-old Timothy Kuskowski also was sentenced to pay $25,611.31 in restitution. Kuskowski pleaded guilty in July to identity theft, forgery and theft of more than $20,000. He was accused of forging checks that he tried to cash in Eagle, Fremont, Garfield, Grand, Gunnison, Jefferson, Mesa, Montrose, Summit and Teller counties between December 2007 and June 2008.
