Auto Broker Pleads Guilty To Bank Fraud

October 8, 2009
Total Loss: $1 million
It was an elaborate money scheme, and it worked -- until the bank got wise. Andrew Crutcher has pleaded guilty to bank fraud. He was an auto broker and car salesman in Nashville and used investor money to make it appear as though he had plenty of cash in his bank account, but then he withdrew more money than he had to cover other checks. From May 2005 to February 2006, he scammed the Bank of Nashville out of nearly $1 million. The bank eventually got suspicious and called authorities.
