Total Loss:
$34,000
State Police have arrested a Rome woman after they say she allegedly stole more than $34,000 by writing fraudulent checks. Investigators say Marsha Fairbank, 33, stole the money by writing checks on a bank account with no funds. Fairbank wrote these checks from her checking account and then would deposit them into another checking account, only to write more checks and withdrawal money using an ATM card, from this second account.
