Cleveland Heights man gets 3 years in prison for fraudulent bank transactions
September 9, 2009
Total Loss:
$29,000
Kevin Bybee, 48, of Cleveland Heights, was sentenced last week by Judge Richard McMonagle to three years in prison and three years of probation for fraud involving $29,000. Bybee, his nephew, DeJuan Bybee, and his nephew's friend, Damon Snell-Smith, recruited others -- including several University of Akron students -- to give them their automated teller cards and passwords, IDs and blank checks then report them stolen. Bybee deposited the checks and would withdraw as much as he could before the banks froze the accounts.
