Check fraud is an $8 billion a year problem in the United States. In Pima County thousands of bad checks are passed every year costing merchants millions of dollars. Thursday, detectives with the Pima County Attorney's office show how writing a bad check can bounce people into jail. Detectives armed with arrest warrants give folks an unexpected wake up call. By the end of the day the final count 17 people arrested the county attorney's office says the hot checks total nearly $100,000.
