Schenectady woman charged in checking scam

A 32-year-old Schenectady woman was arraigned today on six felonies relating to bank fraud. Glenville Police charged Monique N. Washington of Linden Street, Schenectady, with one count of third degree grand larceny, and five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. She is accused of depositing numerous allegedly forged and fake checks in a business account she opened with Trustco Bank under the name of "Books4usbyus," then withdrawing cash before the checks cleared.
