A New Orleans woman who conspired to cash checks stolen from mail boxes has been sentenced to five years of probation. Federal prosecutors say 22-year-old Danyale Barnett participated in a scheme in which stolen checks were altered to increase amounts and make it seem as if they were payments for health care services. Barnett allegedly wore medical scrubs to pose as a home health care provider when she cashed checks at banks.
