Citi Says it's Fixed iPhone Security Flaw

Citigroup says it's upgraded its iPhone banking app after the original app was found to have a potential security glitch, drawing attention to security concerns that potentially counter the convenience of mobile banking in the minds of consumers. The iPhone app was accidentally saving customer account information in hidden files on users' smart phones and computers. That's potentially a problem because when confidential data gets stored by wireless apps, it can leak or become exposed to hacking. Citi said there's no reason to believe that customers' personal information had been accessed or used improperly because of the recent glitch, which was spotted during a security review. Citi also said there has been no data breach.
