Former SunTrust lender pleads guilty to bank fraud

Brentwood resident Shawn Tidwell yesterday pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud related to a fraudulent loan scheme he ran from February 2005 to February 2008. Tidwell, 41, is a former loan officer at SunTrust Bank and National Bank of Commerce. Following his plea, U.S. Attorney Jerry Martin said Tidwell faces up to 30 years’ imprisonment and a $1 million fine.
