Shelby police arrest 9 in check fraud case

Nine men were arrested Tuesday after Shelby police acted on reports of fraudulent payroll checks bearing the name of a legitimate local business, Onion Boy, being cashed at various locations.Patrolmen John Guisinger and Ed Fetzer stopped two vehicles and arrested nine suspects on felony forgery charges. Roberto Guevara, 24; Jorge Priego Ortega, 27; Jesus Mata-Lopez, 22; Cristian Fuentes Torrez, 26; Uriel Nunez Almeron, 27; Mario Daniel Herrea, 23; Jose A. Torres-Flores, 24; Jose Alexandro Reyes-Mata, 24; and Alfonso Suarez-Gonzalez, 31, were arrested, according to Shelby police reports.
