Woman gets 8 years for check fraud

A Portage woman received three prison sentences totaling eight years and 90 days for a fraudulent check scam run in September 2009. Estimates show up to $20,000 could have been netted by Erica Johnson, 37, and her accomplices. The three women wrote a number of nonsufficient-fund checks from various accounts to other accounts
