Dalton woman faces bank fraud charge

Federal authorities have charged a former Kidron bank manager with stealing nearly $140,000 from customers' accounts. Valerie L. Stein, 55, of Dalton, faces one count of bank fraud in U.S. District Court. She was manager of the Kidron branch of First National Bank. During a six-year period, ending in November 2006, Stein made numerous unauthorized withdrawals from customers' accounts without their knowledge, according to court papers.
