Ex-BSA secretary in Texas gets prison for fraud

A secretary who spent more than two decades with the Boy Scouts of America has been sentenced to two years in prison for fraud. Prosecutors on Tuesday announced a federal judge in Dallas had sentenced Barbara Nestel of Justin. She has until March 29 to surrender to prison authorities.Nestel in October pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud. Nestel, who worked for BSA from April 1985 to May 2008, was sentenced Monday. Nestel, whose duties included electronic processing of payments and expenses, must also make more than $350,000 in restitution to Irving-based BSA. Investigators say Nestel was responsible for at least 500 fraudulent transactions that resulted in refunds to her personal bank accounts.
