Four people in custody Friday are accused in a check-cashing scheme in which more than $45,000 was taken from area businesses. One of the four suspects, Pascagoula resident William Mcbride Jr., 19, also has confessed to stealing more than $300,000 in other check-cashing schemes at businesses in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, Police Lt. Davy Davis said Friday.
