Pascagoula cousins arrested for check fraud

Four cousins have been arrested and charged in a check cashing scheme that Pascagoula police say bilked $45,000 from south Mississippi banks and businesses. Pascagoula residents William McBride, 19, Rico McBride, 18, Leoutha Batiste, 24, along with Ashley Batiste, 23, of Gautier, are all charged with conspiracy to commit fraud. Police said the four opened checking accounts and lines of credit with companies and banks in the area using bogus business names.
