Police say 5 cashed fake payroll checks

Five people are accused of cashing fake checks in April. Latasha Nowlin, 37, of the 4400 block of Lafayette Street, and Ian Barnes, 19, face two counts each of forgery, theft and check fraud. Nowlin was being held without bail, and Barnes had not been arrested as of Friday night.
