Total Loss:
$2 million
A St. Louis County man bribed a bank manager to get $2 million in loans, the U.S. Attorney's office said Thursday. Prosecutors say Yuriy Shrifteylik, 43, offered bribes to Commerce Bank financial services manager David Ryan Hunt, 30, of Eureka, to facilitate four loans from July 2006 - July 2008. Prosecutors also say Shrifteylik submitted false documents to get two of the loans, which were supposed to be used for MRI machines and were actually used for other purposes.
