Charles Stergios is facing serious time for bank fraud and mail fraud

Charles Stergios, 26, of Brunswick, faces sentences of 20 and 30 years after a jury found him guilty of two counts of bank fraud and one count of mail fraud. During the trial, prosecutors showed that Stergios planned a scheme to defraud Maine Bank & Trust by forging checks on one of his accounts and trying to use them in New York City. Prosecutors also presented evidence that he was scamming a USAA Bank of San Antonion, Texas.
