Unsuspecting Bank customers divulge details to bogus websites

July 15, 2010
Total Loss: Unknown
A trend has been observed recently that a number of Bank customers have been a target of several phishing emails over the last few weeks. So we urge all customers to keep a watchful eye of such emails. What is Phishing? Phishing is the most common type of online banking fraud. You receive an email purported to be coming from your Bank. The contents of the email will typically include a request to confirm your personal details such as your identity number and your PIN. Ironically, the email usually uses the pretext of preventing fraud to get you to disclose your details.
