New Orleans Man Pleads Guilty to Bank Fraud in Mississippi

Toris Young, 39, of New Orleans, LA, pled guilty in federal court today to charges of bank fraud and uttering forged money orders, U.S. Attorney Donald R. Burkhalter announced. Young, a convicted felon who was recently released from federal prison for identity theft and related crimes, admitted to using forged, stolen money orders in order to defraud banks and merchants. Young also admitted to opening a banking account at Bancorp South using a false social security number. After opening the account, he deposited stolen, forged money orders and other fraudulent deposit items to obtain cash from the bank before the deposits were discovered to be fraudulent.
