A federal grand jury has indicted a 49-year-old Lexington County woman on charges of bank fraud, mail theft and aggravated identity theft. The indictment says Linda Hamel Bacon, 49, of Lexington, stole a driver's license from a car, then presented the stolen license to pass checks she had stolen from other peoples' mailboxes. Investigators from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Postal Service determined that $6,000 was stolen in all, said acting U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald today.
