Pair charged with £60m bank fraud

Two men have appeared in court charged with defrauding Allied Irish Banks (AIB) and Bank of Scotland of £60m. Michalis Achilleas Kallakis, 41 - formerly known as Stefanos Kollakis - and Alexander Williams, 41 - formerly known as Martin Lewis were bailed. The alleged offences linked to AIB involve property loans made from 2003 to 2007 which resulted in a £56m loss.
