Rush Center man pleads guilty to bank fraud

A Rush Center man pleaded guilty to charges of bank fraud Monday according to a press release from the Office of U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch. Patrick J. Renz, 45, Rush Center, admitted in his plea that from Aug. 31, 2006, through June 29, 2007 he obtained loans from Community Bank of the Midwest in Otis. Renz fraudulently claimed to own cattle that the bank accepted as collateral on the loan. He defaulted on the loans, owing the bank $184,385.
