A Pasco man pleaded innocent Wednesday to allegations he helped swindle more than $18,000 from Bank of America by withdrawing cash just days after depositing bad checks.
Wardell Braxton, 30, faces trial July 19 in Benton County Superior Court for first-degree theft.
Braxton and two others reportedly got away with the check fraud scheme for at least a month, which then led to "an exhaustive investigation" by the bank, court documents said. Braxton and his alleged associates used Bank of America branches in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Union Gap and Yakima, documents said.
