Prison for Shakopee man who stole $200k-plus in ID theft scheme

A 53-year-old Shakopee man who stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in an identity theft scheme has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison.
Jeffrey S. Graham was sentenced Friday in federal court in Minneapolis to a prison term of five years and nine months for aggravated identity theft and wire fraud.
Graham admitted in a plea agreement in October that he submitted a fraudulent cash-advance application for $38,000 to a funding company on behalf of his business, Splash Water Sports News of Shakopee. He applied for the loan using someone else's name and Social Security number without that person's knowledge. The application was approved, and Graham received the $38,000. The government estimates the loss amount for sentencing purposes to be between $200,000 and $400,000.
