Portland police said a high-tech ATM foiled a check-fraud ring in Portland. Michelle Blackwell, identified by police as the leader of the scheme, is accused of making and passing fake checks. Officers said Blackwell recruited five others, and one of them stole a check belonging to Willamette Pacific Land Company.
