Holland real estate worker defrauded nearly 600K from banks

A 48-year-old woman is accused in a check-cashing scheme that defrauded nearly $600,000 from several banks over a 12-year period. Federal prosecutors this week filed a felony complaint against Janice Branderhorst for bank fraud. In the complaint, she is accused of obtaining money illegally through several banks, using her job as an administrative assistant at Focus Properties as the method. Focus Properties is a commercial real estate company and Branderhorst allegedly had access to the company's books, checkbooks and bank accounts.
