CPA to pay 31 million restitution for fraud

Berta Sanders, 61, a Miami Lakes accountant, was sentenced to 52 months in prison, five years of supervised release and $31 million in restitution for her role in a mortgage fraud scam at Wells Fargo Bank, formerly Wachovia Bank. U.S. District Court Judge Paul C. Huck handed down the sentence. Sanders pleaded guilty in October.
