Total Loss:
$33,000
Naples police say a man deposited a fake check at Shamrock Bank and then wired $33,000 to England in what appears to be an internet scam. A worker at the bank, which is located on 5th Avenue South, called police Monday morning to report the fraud. Susanne Bartlett, the bank's senior vice president and CFO, told officers that Timothy Hampson opened an account at the bank in December, with a $50 deposit.
