February 10, 2011
Total Loss:
$1,000
Police arrested a Muncie teenager this week on allegations that he knowingly wrote a bad check against a closed bank account. Nathan Anthony Myers, 18, 523 E. Charles St., faces a single charge of fraud on a financial institution, a class C felony carrying a standard prison sentence of four years. Police believe Myers used the bad check to open a bank account with Star Financial bank and then withdrew $610 from the account before the bank realized there was nothing to support the check.
