Total Loss:
$450,000
A consultant who managed debit cards for Microsoft's internship program is charged with using the cards to steal $457,000 from the software company. A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted Maryvone Phanhsiry, a former employee of Cartus Corp. in Bellevue, on charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft in the alleged scheme. The charges claim Phanhsiry abused her oversight of Microsoft's intern stipends starting around August 2007 and continuing through at least April 2009.
