Cory woman charged with fraud totaling nearly 1 million

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted a Coraopolis woman for defrauding a former savings and loan of nearly $1 million, according to the office of U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton. Elexa Manos-Becton, 42, of 807 Sixth Ave., faces 21 counts, including bank fraud, money laundering and monetary transaction in criminally derived property, said a press release issued Tuesday. The grand jury found that Manos-Becton defrauded Dwelling House Savings and Loan of Pittsburgh using fraudulent electronic payment transactions. Manos-Becton is accused of opening a PayPal account and connecting it to her Dwelling House accounts.
