A former northeast Georgia bank officer has pleaded guilty to receiving kickbacks for real estate loans in a multimillion dollar fraud scheme. The guilty plea on Thursday by Randy Jones, a former vice president of Cornelia-based Community Bank & Trust, is part of a larger effort by federal prosecutors to crack down on bank fraud in Georgia. The state is home to more bank failures during the financial crisis than any other state.
