Local tip about check fraud uncovers international crime ring

The tip was like hundreds of others, a man passing stolen checks at a bank.
Less than a year out of the FBI Academy, Agent Bryan Smith already had handled a dozen such cases at the white-collar crime unit in Cleveland.
