A 27-year-old man accused of running a South Florida hospital identify theft ring has been sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison. Jimmy Lee Theordore plead guilty Monday to charges of wire fraud, unauthorized use of a debit card and aggravated identify theft. A judge ordered him to pay $631,000 in restitution. Federal prosecutors say Theodore recruited employees of Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale to steal patients' personal information from emergency room records. The information was sold and used to access accounts online, telephone banking services and to make cash withdrawals and purchase money orders through ATM machines.
