Former Tory candidate arrested on fraud charges

A GTA man who was set to be a Conservative candidate in this year’s provincial election will appear in a Toronto court this morning on fraud charges.
Salman Farooq, 35, of Woodbridge, was arrested outside his home on Wednesday.
Farooq, whose full name is Salman Farooq Sheikh, had until recently been the Tory candidate in the Pickering-Scarborough East riding.
