Fraud bust turns up stash of stolen ID and bank information

Const. Marc Dehid was on a routine call when he walked into an apartment in north Edmonton last month and uncovered what is alleged to be a sophisticated fraud operation involving piles of stolen identification, personal documents and banking information.
The investigation turned up 30 driver’s licences, 24 health cards, 38 birth certificates, 17 social insurance cards, 42 debit or credit cards, as well as other identification cards, personal documents and vehicle insurance or registration papers. There were also ten forged SIN cards, 75 phoney drivers licences, and 13 fraudulent credit applications seized in the investigation.
