Womans Bank Account Emptied After ATM Card Misplaced

One Charlotte woman’s bank account was wiped out after her ATM card fell into the wrong hands, and then she said she had trouble seeing the bank’s surveillance video.
Tyneshia Johnson, 18, said she unknowingly lost her card and then became a victim of fraud.
“Somebody deposited a $1,200 check into my account, and they had withdrawn the next day,” she said.
The check was deposited at a Wachovia ATM in Huntersville and drawn on a Maryland bank, but it turned out to be worthless. Johnson said she found all this out when Wachovia sent her a $1,200 overdraft notice and demanded she repay the money.
She said bank investigators accused her of knowing who did it.
